  • Episode 439 – “Luffy’s Treatment Begins!” Is Available!

One Piece episode 439, “Luffy’s Treatment Begins! Ivan-san’s Miraculous Power!”, is now available for streaming on FUNimation’s One Piece site. “The great Ivankov is Luffy’s only chance for survival, but his powers may not be as miraculous as they seem. What is necessary for Ivankov’s powers to work? And does Luffy have what it takes?” You can also view the preview for episode 440 on Fuji’ TVs site.

What a fantastic episode! Sure there were a lot of repeated animation clips, sure there was some Buggy and Mr. 3 filler, but really good episode. The animation was fantastic, go Tate! The flashback of Ace and Luffy was a nice touch as well. You see, that is how you do filler, make it have meaning. That is what I tend to hate about the Buggy and Mr. 3 filler, it isn’t going anywhere. Ivankov also proved how awesome he is. Did anyone else catch his pelvic thrusts (it’ll drive you insa~a~a~ane)?

Also up for streaming are episodes 101 – 103 of the Alabasta Arc.

    Enjoy!

  • The Spring of Trivia Collaborates With One Piece!

Is it the greatest news ever or the greatest news evar?

After more than two years off the air, The Spring of Trivia will be returning with a TV special on the 27th of February! For those of you that don’t know, The Spring of Trivia is the greatest Japanese variety show ever created according to me.

What’s more is the TV special (one that promises to have set some kind of new Guiness World Record) is having a special tie-in with One Piece via the opening that unites the ‘Trivia Family’ trio of hosts with at least One Piece character, Luffy!

Airing on the same Fuji Television network, One Piece author Eiichiro Oda has collaborated with the program in the past but this is the first time his characters will be featured interacting with the hosts.

    Amazing.

edit:You may notice there is a post similar to mine below this. That’s just how incredible this news is. If we didn’t break it up over two posts the site would have exploded covering us in a warm liquid gel-like substance. We do this only for your safety.

  • New Trivia no Izumi + Luffy = WIN

Trivia no Izumi is back with another special! After 27 months of torture and longing, the wait is over! What makes this even better? Luffy will be in the animated intro! As a HUGE fan of the show, I cannot wait!

If you don’t know what Trivia no Izumi is, it is a fantastic show.
Check out this example, or this one, or this one… you get the picture, it is a fun fun show!

  • One Piece “Mallows”

There is an image of what I am hoping are rushed prototypes for the Mallows. These are just drawings and not even the actual thing yet, but I stress, I hope it is rushed. Notice how it says “Zorro” instead of Zoro. Also, notice how they say One Piece Series 1, so expect more in the future if these do well.

Looks like the first set will include Luffy, Nami and “Zorro.” I am surprised they aren’t going with cash-cow Chopper as well, though there can be more to the set that we just don’t know about.

  • New Chunk of Deep Thoughts

Thanks to EGX scanning a bunch of old JUMPs that he’s collected through the years, I was able to translate a bunch of Oda’s table of contents comments from 2003-2006.

    Enjoy!
