• New Chunk of Deep Thoughts

Thanks to EGX scanning a bunch of old JUMPs that he’s collected through the years, I was able to translate a bunch of Oda’s table of contents comments from 2003-2006.

    Enjoy!

  • Treasure Trove of Chicken

The nice thing about this medium is it allows me to easily upload things I otherwise usually wouldn’t. Some people have been wondering about the ‘treasure’ campaign going on at Lawson convenience stores in Japan. I’m not a big merch guy. I got the merch bug out of my system in high school; I ripped its parasitic tendrils from my spine and spat on its shallow grave.

    But I do like food.

Even though they’re basically just random generic treats with a OP stamp slapped on them, I can’t resist chicken. Nor could I refuse an opportunity to get a Sanji wanted poster. And so I purchased the ‘Pirate BBQ Chicken Nuggets’ from Lawson and two bags of treats to get a free Sanji clear file poster.

The Gear 2nd chicken made my day.

  • Oda’s Mistakes for Volume 56

Errors for Volume 56 are up at my site. It’s refreshing to have some nice errors aside from clothing mishaps. For my favorite this time it’s a tie between Daz’s vanishing tattoo and Sengoku’s (beautifully ironic) white beard.

You’ll also find Oda’s comment from this week’s JUMP in Oda’s Deep Thoughts.

  • YouTube WeTube EverybodyTubeTube

Greetings from Ono City or as I call it this time of year, ‘The Ninth Circle of Dante’s Glaciated Hell Suffering The Arctic Eupnea of Satan’s Obsidian Maw’. It may be cold outside but I bring you warm tidings of One Piece.

If you’re not already familiar with it, I suggest you check out my YouTube account ‘0chimusha’ (that’s with a zero) for a plethora of One Piece goodies from JUMP Festas of years gone by. I don’t have all of my old videos up just yet, there are a lot more coming, but eventually I hope to have all the old videos online that were viewable at my old account which Fuji Television saw fit to have YouTube delete; ironically over a clip that had nothing to do with the One Piece animation.

While you’re there check out my proposal story if you wanna see something that will blow you away.

I’ve also updated Oda’s Deep Thoughts on The Grand Line with three weeks’ worth of comments including a depressing tidbit regarding a certain author.

  • GL Twits Its First Tweet

I had a better title but I’m trying to keep things PG-13.

Right, so, here we are poised on the precipice of The Pirate Summit. Below us lie the skeletal remains of hundreds of pirates. Raftel as inspiration for an English-based One Piece conglomeration? I like it. I have ignored the growth of online publishing technology for the past three years so much of this is foreign to me and I’m sure to make a few mistakes along the way but please bare with me. Or just simply bear with me if you’re not into that kind of thing.

This kind of format is a dream for me because I don’t list updates on my site anymore. Since I’ve largely ignored most other sections of my site, the only place that gets any action is the One Piece page. So this is a nice way to get the word out fast and easily. And Heaven help me if I figure out how to tweet from my phone with images. That will be a great deal of fun for all of us. We’ll see how it unfolds.

If you’re interested, I’ve updated the interviews with Oda from my site and combined them in one location on one page with *gasp* status listings. That way you know how far along they are and whether you should use my translations in heated fanboy battles or not.

*Protip* Interviews listed as ‘Under Revision’ are probably not a good idea to start throwing around left and right as indisputable fact.

Looking forward to this new outlet for series information!
